The beginning of ha.ba’s:
Located in the Postoffice District of Galveston, Texas ha.ba’s was established in 2004 by sisters Erica and Monica Barry.
Partner, Monica, lives in Galveston where she runs the store front. ha.ba’s provides the latest L.A. trends at prices that are affordable for the young stay-home-mom, college students and business women alike. The store has become a popular destination spot, a “must do” for women of all ages. Customer service is something that had built the legacy of ha.ba’s. Building a loyal customer base of Galveston locals, regulars from the Houston area and beyond, many to whom special bonds were created and now are like family. Buyer and partner, Erica lives and works in Los Angeles, as an executive buyer for several chic clothing stores throughout the U.S. and Canada, where she shops the L.A. clothing district for the trendiest fashions at discount prices. Erica’s unique instinct for knowing what will become the latest fashion trends has been the driving force behind the success of ha.ba's. Her presence in L.A. allows ha.ba's to purchase and ship clothing from L.A. to Galveston on a weekly basis. Due to a purchasing collaboration with Erica’s other high-volume clients, ha.ba's costumers are able to reap the benefits of purchasing boutique quality clothing at “non” boutique prices; all while enjoying the personalized customer service ha.ba's offers to their customers.
As a testament to ha.ba's cutting edge fashions, affordability and friendly costumer service, ha.ba's was noted voted by Houston Chronicle readers as the “Best Place to Shop for Affordable Styles” in the 2006 Ultimate Houston Guide, in 2007 was noted by the Houston Chronicle as “the next best thing to H&M” and most recently, the store was selected as the winner of “Best Store in Town” by shopacrosstexas.com for 2011-2016. In 2017, we took Gold for "Best Women's Clothing" and Silver in "Best Accessories" in Galveston.com's Best of the Island. We followed that up by taking Best of Galveston for 2017-2021.
